Pegasus Pegasus now has its first residents living on site. James & Biddy Gardner became the town's first residents when they moved into their new home on Wednesday 17th September. A second couple took possession of their Mike Greer Homes-built house a few days later and moved in the following week.
779 sections are now pre sold which equates to around 92% of all the sections that have been put on the market so far. To date titles have been issued for 274 sections in stages 1, 2 & 3 with development work almost completed on stage 4. Footpaths and roading are being constructed in stage 5. Around 25 houses are currently under construction. Earthworks and infrastructure work has now started on stages 6, 7 and 11.
Excavation of the town's feature lake has now been completed and the lake edging is being installed. It is expected that this will be completed and the lake will be filled by mid 2009.
The new Pegasus Sales & Information Centre is now open at 116 Pegasus Boulevard, Pegasus to provide further information to anyone wanting more information on Pegasus.
Mapleham The first nine holes of the Mapleham Golf Course have been completed and good grass growth means it is really starting to look like a golf course. The Mapleham lots are all fenced with trees planted and the feature lakes along the fairways are full of water.
Titles for 60 lots in Mapleham Stages 1, 2 & 3 have been issued. Irrigation and drainage works will continue during winter in preparation for seeding and completing the remaining nine holes in spring. Work on the golf course maintenace shed has started.
Water treatment plant The water treatment plant is now operational and is in the proving phase prior to being handed over to Waimakariri District Council. The first sewer pump station is also operational.
Eastern Conservation Management Area (ECMA) Wai-Ora Forest Landscapes has recommenced planting in the ECMA. Wai-Ora will continue in the coming months with in-fill and margin planting and with weed control and irrigation. Planting in the ECMA stage 2 has commenced. Around 120,000 native plants have been planted so far and flocks of birds are now starting to frequent the wetland area.
